Waste high and firing... A look back at our first event to kickoff the 2023 season!
We kicked off the start of our summer events with Surf Fest 2023, the ultimate wake surfing experience.
Held on site at the prestigious Lake Lanier Olympic Park, surfers of any age and skill level from around the community were given the opportunity to demo surf, skim and hybrid style boards from some of the top brands in the industry. In addition to a selection of boards each rider got to take their pick and experience and compare the top surf waves!
The Itinerary for the day ahead was broken up into four mini session time slots, so riders could take a surf set then rotate from each boat, getting to compare each experience. The morning conditions were just right with ever so smooth water and those comfortable summer temps.
Eager to shred, the boats were loaded, and a party wave quickly formed on the dock as our participants aboard headed out.
Throughout the day riders were also given the unique experience to demo Radinn Jet Boards, the latest innovation in electric surfing.
John Unger, local surfing and skateboarder, said “I felt like I was flying!”. With top speeds up to 37mph, and adapted hulls to slice through waves and choppy waters, the jet board experience was just one more highlight of the event.
The chill vibes continued into lunch with a hungry group of surfers and staff treated to Chipotle. The camaraderie amongst the group shifted back out on the water following so much need grub to wrap up a full day of endless waves.
In appreciation for the support and good times, participants were treated with a Surf Fest 2023 t-shirt and a swag bag provided by OneWake and sponsors of the event.
We are excited to announce the return of Surf Fest in 2024 set to take place on Saturday, May 18 back at Lake Lanier Olympic Park.
This year's event will include live music, food trucks and of course the best board and waves!
